Has anyone ever clearly explained for you WHY the Catholic Church does not approve of unnatural birth control?
For most of us, the answer is NO. Learn about your faith and discover a natural method of family planning that goes beyond the physical. Natural Family Planning (NFP) taught by Couple to Couple League certified teachers is in full accord with Catholic teaching and the method is as effective as the Pill with none of the side effects of unnatural methods. But more importantly, "since it is the study of our sexual powers, the window to the soul, NFP reveals the profound mystery of the human person.
In studying their sexual powers, men and women will see the mystery which is expressed in and through these faculties. Men and women will perceive the dignity of the body and its sacramental value as a physical image of God. People will begin to respect the body and hold it in awe and reverence." (Is NFP Good? by Reverends Richard M. Hogan and John M. LeVoir)
Bishop Taylor has mandated attendance at an NFP class series for all couples of child-bearing age preparing for marriage in the Church. The Cathedral of St. Andrew, being obedient to its pastor and bishop, has already begun holding NFP classes in parnership with other Little Rock parishes. A new class series will begin in the diocese every month.
